Yountsville news items – The angel of death has again been in our midst and took from us a dear mother, a wife, a friend.  Mrs. Lucy Anna Smith Weikel was born in Burboun County, Ky Dec 20, 1829 and departed this life at her home near Yountsville, March 28, 1902 aged 72 years 3 months 8 days. She had been in feeble health for some time but death resulted from hemorrhage of the lungs. She was married to Samuel Weikel Dec 16, 1856.  To them were born six children, all of whom preceded her, but one son, William who with his father, and a host of relatives and friends mourn her loss.  To know her was to love her. She united with the Christian Church in Crawfordsville under the ministers of Rev. Creighton and was a lover of the truth and Christianity. The funeral was preached at the ME Church here by Rev. Tharp, Monday at 10 o’clock. Her body was laid in its last resting place in the Odd Fellows’ cemetery at Crawfordsville. -- kbz

Mrs. Lucy A. Weikle, wife of Samuel Weikle, died Friday evening at 9:30 at her home in Yountsville from hemorrhage. Mrs. Weikle was 72 years old and a husband and one son survive her, five children having preceded her to the grave. She was a most excellent and highly respected lady and quite well known over the county. The funeral occurred from the Methodist Church in Yountsville, Monday morning at 10 o’clock, conducted by Dr. Wallace Tharp, the interment being in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery in this city. -s
